We are OFFICIALLY Approved!

We are OFFICIALLY approved to do what? We are officially certified and are going to be foster parents with the hope of adding a child in need to our family through the foster to adopt program. We just got our certificate and can get a call at anytime to place a child in our home - which is super exciting but also really crazy. It is crazy to think we are going to become a family of 5 at anytime. I know by saying that you may have some questions about our decision and why we have chosen to do this and I hope to answer them here: 1. Why do we want to foster to adopt? We believe that God adopted us into His family as His own children and we want to show that love to someone else who is in need of a home. Landon and I have always wanted to pursue some form of adoption even before we met. We knew we wanted to have our own biological first and then consider adoption afterwards. Once Lawson reached a year old, we started researching the different avenues of expanding our family th...

The Summer of Pee

Yep you read that right! Overall we have had a great summer but when I look back at the 3 precious months I have had with my kids - I will fondly remember it as the "Summer of Pee". Going into the summer, I knew it was going to be hard. Not because the kids were going to be home and I had no idea how I was going to juggle my work schedule but because I had to tackle pee. This summer I had to night train Lyndi, day train Lawson and start all over again with a new puppy, Palmer. To say I was swimming in pee is an understatement. Laundry was on overdrive but we managed to make it through. Amen!!! All have been successful but I wouldn't say we are completely accident free just yet. Hopefully in the next few months, it will be a distant memory. Overall this summer was fantastic and I am thankful for the opportunity to be with my kids day in and day out. Meet Palmer: She is a rescue dog from God's Dogs Rescue based in San Antonio. I was shown a picture of her after I ...

Tank: The Life of Our Tanky Boy

Tank - I knew the moment that I first laid eyes on you at the Humane Society in San Antonio on my birthday in 2010, you would be ours. Even though it wasn't great timing because we were about to leave San Antonio, temporarily live in Houston, get married and move to North Carolina, we had to make it work. My mom and Paul agreed to house Tank and we had a plan of action. We changed your name from Mambo to Tank the day we officially adopted you. You were the sweetest most fluffy puppy I have ever met. You loved to swim, chase squirrels and lizards, play ball (except rarely brought it back) and wonder off on your own. You kept watch of our home and always alerted me when someone was arriving or something was going on that shouldn't be. Your love for your stuffed bear was almost too much to handle. It was the only stuffed toy you didn't destroy and you always loved sucking its face.  You were great with our kids and I was never worried that you would do anything to h...
