Stepping foot on Texas soil reminds me how much I love this place! It doesn't matter where I am or how much I like living in North Carolina - this is home and will always be home to Landon and I. We are thrilled to be back and can't wait to get back here permanently. There are so many things I love about Texas that I could go on and on forever. Family, friends, the lakes, the weather, the way of life, the food ... the fact that Texas is the BEST state in the US. On our way to El Paso to spend time with Landon's family for Thanksgiving, we stopped in Houston. We thought that we were going to only have an hour layover but when wee landed we realized our plane was delayed by 4 hours. In an effort to put to bed all the rumors about Landon and I being pregnant - We are not! Here is what happened over the last couple of weeks. Meet Hank.... Landon and I decided to do a trial run with Hank last weekend. The family that owns Hank does not want him anymore because of his size. So last Friday, Landon picked him up and brought him home. i honestly believed at that time, if he came home we would not be able to give him up. He is the sweetest dog and loves to cuddle. He is about 1 years old and only knows how to sit. We worked on laying down and he picked it up pretty quickly which was a good sign. Hank and Tank got along tremendously and loved every minute together. At the end of the day on Sunday, Landon and I decided that it was not the best idea to keep him and we brought him back to his owners. During Mother's Day last year, I wrote what I appreciated about each of my three moms. Over the years, I have been very fortunate to have fantastic role models in my life and for this Father's Day, I decided to do a tribute to each of my dads. The meaning of the word dad means more than just a person or thing. I have been very fortunate and blessed to have many significant male figures in my life. From each of you, I have learned life lessons and gained qualities that I would not otherwise have if it were not for you being placed in my life. Daddy: Daddy you are truly one of a kind. Amah I have been meaning to post this several weeks ago but I never got around to it. Now that school has officially ended and I have time on my hands... I wanted to tell you my favorite memories of Amah. Growing up, I always loved going to Grandad and Amah's house at Christmas time. They had the best Christmas scene set up on their jacuzzi. It came complete with characters skating around the frozen pond, houses lit with electricity, and people set up in different scenes doing Christmas things. The houses had moving parts and had so many intricate details. I can remember sitting there watching the scenes with my cousins and being told repeatedly not to touch anything. It was like you were watching TV because something new was added every year and you could never possibly see everything with just one glance. As I got older, I began to realize that I needed to cherish the time I had with her. I loved her laugh and she was always laughing at one thing or another. She...

Land and I took Tank to the beach today for the first time this season with our friends Mike and Rachel and their dog Salty. It wasn't nice weather and little rainy but we made it work. Tank loves the water and was in immediately. We let him off the leash and he was able to run free in and out of the ocean and of course roll around in the sand. When we got home - Landon had the genius idea of shaving Tank in our tub. Tank looks pitiful and wants more than anything to be out of the tub. The crazy thing is that you can't even tell he lost any hair. Today we are cleaning house and then having dinner with Erika and John, our friends we play volleyball with. Guess who gets the job of cleaning up our bathroom? Not me!

Here is a picture of Corinne and I the weekend of her baptism - isn't she just precious. She did wonderfully at her baptism and we are blessed to be her godparents. Landon and I met her for the first time the weekend of her baptism and we were very excited. I was trying to get as much time as I could with her that weekend. Maybe one day Landon and I will will have one of our own. Can't wait to watch her grow up!

It has been forever since my last post and to the handful of followers - I am sorry! Landon and I have kept very busy over the last several months. We joined a small group, played intramural kickball and volleyball, explored more of North and South Carolina, and are getting ready for summer. Updates on Landon: Land officially decided to apply for oral surgery residency program and submitted his application packet to the office yesterday. We will find out if he is accepted into the program sometime this summer. Lately, he has been given the opportunity to participate in a lot of surgeries and is scheduled on a weekly basis to take teeth out which he loves. Captain Etheridge has been a great friend and mentor to Landon and I hope they can continue to be in the same clinic next year. The last 2 weeks in April, Landon will be going to Bethesda to do a continuing education course for oral surgery and also to shadow the oral surgeons in the program.
