Goodbye NC!

Goodbye North Carolina! It is hard to believe that three years have come and gone and our life in North Carolina is coming to a close! It seems like yesterday, Land and I packed up his Tahoe and headed up to our new home in Hampstead only 4 days after we got married. I have to say that it was a sincere culture shock. Coming from living in the seventh largest city, San Antonio, to a two stop light town is quite an adjustment. There are only so many times you can clean house or drive around your new town before you go stir crazy. I began missing the great state of Texas only after a few weeks of living here but I soon adjusted and started meeting new people. Soon I found a job at the local high school and my days began to fill with teaching Algebra I to freshman and soon thereafter trying to get as many students to walk across the stage as possible in effort to improve graduation rates and drop-out rates. To say my work experience over the last t...

A Tribute to My Daddy!

Many of you have been asking for a copy of the eulogy that I gave my dad during his Memorial Service. Here is what I said for the most part. During the service, I definitely staryed a little from this and added some extras...but here is the just of it. Thank you so much for all the support and love you have shown our family during this time. The service had around 750 people there and I am sure my dad had a blast in traditional Liljenwall family fashion at the after party at our house. I love you daddy and miss you everyday!     Eulogy for Erik G.V. Liljenwall II Thursday February 21, 2013 Hi! On behalf of my siblings and Becky, I would like to take this opportunity to honor my Dad for the husband, father, son, coworker or friend he was to you during his 53 years on Earth. I hope that you will laugh, cry and cherish my Daddy for the man he was to ...

Happy Birthday Becky!

Happy Birthday Becky!   I wish I could be there with you and be your date at Helping Hands to watch the boys shine in their tuxedoes. You have been so strong through all of this and I am so blessed that you are in my life. I could not have gotten through the month of February with you and your courage and strength.  I love you so much and am so proud of you!!   PS - this is a picture of Triple his senior year at Westlake. Dad wouldn't be anywhere else but in the stands cheering you on under the Friday night lights. I am pretty sure you practice your deep snap many times that weekend. I love you!
