Lyndon is One Month!

We have officially been parents for one month and even though I haven't left the house it has flown by. After a difficult 28 hours labor and delivery (I will post the birth story next week), Lyndi is a healthy girl who is ready to give us a run for our money. There have definitely been some tough moments but for the most part she is a relatively easy baby from what we can tell and from the stories that I hear from others. I have been trying to get her into more of a routine but she is still pretty unpredictable. I spend most of my time nursing her, changing her, and trying to catch up on sleep. In the last week, she finally figured out her nights and days. We start her bedtime routine at 7:00 PM and she is in her crib at 8:00 PM. She then wakes up around 11:00 PM, 3:30 AM and then 7:00 AM. One Year

It is so hard to believe that on this day last Valentine's Day I watched my dad take his last breath. Seeing a person you love go through something like that is life changing. In that moment, you can only look to God for strength and comfort. There is nothing anyone can say or do to make it any better. I characterized the month of February as a living nightmare that would never end. Looking back at that time each day seemed to drag on all the while the world seemed to be flying by at record pace. We were on a roller coaster ride that had way more sudden drops than it did highs all of which were very unexpected. We decided to get off the ride when as a family we made the decision to take my daddy off life support and let him go to Heaven a few days prior. The Lord called him home on the day that we celebrate love.
