It is official - I have convinced Triple that wearing an A&M hat is not that bad. I actually think he likes the school on the inside but I know that he still loves his Longhorns. It is very hard to pull this attire off in my house without being scrutinized or made fun of. Maybe it was easier for him last night because the Longhorns were destroyed by UCLA last weekend. Don't get me wrong, my parents think that A&M is a great school, but their loyalties lie with UT ( except Paul -  you are the only one who really understands). Triple and I were texting back and forth to each other and the next thing I know he tells me Gig'Em and then I get this picture - I love it! I am not sure where he will end up at school and he stills has a year and a half to decide but I do know that he is at least considering making good ol' College Station his home in the coming years. Landon and I have witnessed a record breaking week in our neck of the woods. Over the last several days, we have received 23.06 inches of rain. Today is the first day where it has not rained for hours on end without letting up. I have been locked up in the house and worried sick about Landon driving in the early morning on two lane highways to the base with the water rising and the wind swirling around. Actually he did not have a problem until this morning and the base was delayed two hours - meaning that instead of leaving for work at 5:30, he left for work at 7:30! Woo hoo! We got to sleep in!!!! The problem was that usually Landon enters the base form the back gate but this morning he was rerouted to the front gate because of the high water. He was suppose to be at work at 8:45 but he was still in the car trying to get to the front gate by 10:00. Today on my to-do list including cleaning the porch and the floors but also to go through my container store boxes of miscellaneous items from high school until now. What started as one stationary box to keep all my writing utensils and letters for camp became a box to throw invitations and personal items of interest. It has grown to four boxes and is not overflowing with things that I once felt were very important. I decided that I better go through them and weed out. If you know me, I don't like clutter. I like everything to be very organized and I like to purge things often. Don't get me wrong, I love keepsakes and cherish items that I will one day want to show to my kids but when it comes to keeping things that I can't remember when they are from or what their meaning was, I simply throw them away. Landon and I have met several people in our area and they have all been great! One of the couples we love to hang out with are the Towals who are from New Braunfels, Texas. We met them through Julie's mom who contacted my mom after seeing the wedding announcement in the Austin and San Antonio newspaper. We found out that we have a quite a lot in common including.... 1. Mr. Towal is learning to fly the Osprey in the Air Force and is currently stationed in North Carolina. 2. His first name is Erik which is Landon's middle name (except spelled with a 'c') and my family's name.  3. Julie went to Texas A&M and is in the education field. 4. We both have dogs named Tank. 5. Julie and I both have birthdays in May. 6. We moved to North Carolina and live 30 minutes away from each other around the same time in August.  We went on a blind date together a few weeks back and hit it off. Dental Corp Birthday Ball - Out of 80 dentists at Camp LeJeune, Landon is the youngest dentist. He was required to cut the birthday cake with the oldest dentist. Needless to say Landon felt a little awkward holding hands with him in the "wedding pose". Tank watching me make cookies - he anxiously waiting for a taste... Landon's 26th Birthday Cake - his favorite red velvet and cream cheese icing! This was his afternoon snack after he got home from work! Land and Tank at the beach for the first time - Tank was really excited at first but soon he did not like the salt water in his eyes or mouth. We made it!!!! It really was not that bad - felt like a minor storm. We didn't even get that much rain just a lot of wind. As far as I know there is not damage in our neighborhood. I almost wish that we had a little more rain because our plants and our yard need it bad!! Last night Landon and I went to the beach because we wanted to see the surf. The waves were huge (12 feet) and we even ventured out onto the 100 yard pier to get a better view. The waves were crashing over the pier and getting all the onlookers wet. When a wave would hit, the pier would move back and forth. It was scary so Landon and I decided it would be safe for us to get off. I have pictures and will post when I find the cord to the camera. Landon and I are gearing up for our first hurricane together in North Carolina. Even though I have been through hurricanes before in Houston, Landon has never been through one. I think this hurricane will be a breeze though. The wind is starting to pick up and and there are high clouds in the air. Earl will not make a direct hit where we live because it is suppose to remain off coast. The path has shifted a little towards the coast and we are expected to have topical storm winds and a few inches of rain. I already had enough water and batteries and I can promise that we have enough food to last us. Landon and I filled up our cars and the extra gas can in case our community freaks out like Houston. Usually with the threat of an approaching hurricane in the gulf, you can not find a gas station with gas anywhere or if you do you will wait in line for hours. First post after the wedding - I am officially a married woman! Yeah!!!!! Married life is wonderful. Landon and I have really enjoyed the time we have had together since the wedding. He has been able to take a lot of time off - so we were able to have a honeymoon in our new home. Landon and I have officially settled into our home - well there are no more boxes but there are piles of items that need to be organized and put away. It feels more like our home everyday as we get things situated. Actually I am going to keep this post short and sweet because I need to get back to organizing the piles in the dining room. Once I find the camera cord for the computer, I will post pictures of Tank and the house. Love you all and miss you!

I never thought this week would arrive - I never thought I would be saying goodbye to the life I know in San Antonio, the dear friends that live here, and my colleagues at Rawlinson Middle School. These last two years that I have experienced have been life changing and I never thought that I would be taking this path that God has laid out for me to follow. 1. I never thought I would be engaged and getting married to Landi :) 2. I never thought I would be leaving Texas. 3. I never thought I would not be able to practice as a diagnostician. 4. I never thought that I would be leaving a job and not have another job waiting. 5. I never thought that I would be a part of the military. Even though some of these things may sound negative, I am actually very excited to experience what the road of life has in store for me. I am excited to leave Texas and move away for a couple of years. I am excited but a little nervous about living the life as a wife of a Navy Dentist. I am...

Last weekend was my birthday and even though I have been asking for a dog for almost a year now, I never expected to get one last weekend. For the last several months, Landon and I have been going to the SPCA on the weekends to look at the animals. Everytime we go, we see cute dogs that we want to bring home but we always walk away empty handed. We also have never taken a dog into "Get To Know You" Room and Saturday was a completely different story. That morning, my family called me to wish me happy birthday. My dad even sang me the entire song like he does every year (Daddy - I expect that even when I am married) While on the phone, I jokingly told them that I was going to get my dog today. Against their will, I told them that they would have to take care of him for the remaining time that Landon and I lived in San Antonio because I did not want to pay the apartment animal fees. My mom was a little freaked out but I wasn't worried about it because in reality I knew it ...

Any minute my phone will ring and Landon's picture will appear on my phone. This phone call is one of the most significant phone calls in my relationship with Landon because it signifies the closing of a chapter in our lives. Ever since the day that I met Landon, I became involved in his life as a dental school student. I wasn't really sure what that meant until I one day I found myself crying because Landon and his roommates were consumed with stress and fear of failing out of dental school. Last year was one of the most stressful years in Landon's life. There were many days that Landon felt like he was not going to pass and there were many days that I would pray for God's will in our lives. Please don't get me wrong - Landon is an excellent dentist and receives many compliments from faculty members. Well I am officially giving in to the blog life! I have been comptemplating this for a while and I am going to join the masses. I have always had a prayer journal and I plan to continue with it but I want a way to keep in touch with everyone. I am not really sure why I decided to do this right now but the only reason I can fathom is the fact that I have a final project due next week that requires my attention and I simply don't want to look at it anymore. Furthermore, the reality of leaving Texas in a few months is beginning to set in. I am realizing that I am about to leave my support system and move to a different state with Landon by my side. Before that reality occurs, there are a million and one things that need to be done. The most important item of business is that Landon and I are getting married in 88 days.
