Prior to leaving for our honeymoon, I took out our left over wedding cake to defrost and try for dessert. I have been told it is tradition to eat some of your wedding cake on your year anniversary. I must say that I was a little skeptical to eat it because over the last year, our cake has been frozen, defrosted, frozen, and defrosted again as it made the journey from River Oaks Country Club to my mom's freezer. Then to our car over Christmas as we drove back to NC with Tank laying right next to it. It's final stop was our new freezer that Dad and Becky purchased for us last year.
I decided to go big and make a great dinner with crab stuffed flounder, asparagus, homemade mashed potatoes, and a crab cake. I opened our last bottle of wine that Land and I ordered after we got engaged. We drank this wine at Bohanon's and liked it so much that we order a case of it.
